Ale Groen lives in a space that he defines as existing "between certainty and uncertainty". His work seeks various forms of identities and objects, part of a repertoire that is both conceptual and concrete. As he explores shape, there is cognition, one that he suggests "questions the problem of knowing" and "what a new knowing looks like in real time and space". Groen integrates a rational form of reality that coalesces with an inherent abstract approach to the body, all that is mishapen, shaped, bound and yet... coming undone. His ever changing medium is somehow stabilized by his quest for understanding. He states "The ability to know, parallels our ability to create a new form. This is central to my work".
